An uninspiring day of trade goes by in the European markets today as the major indices hold their ground with only slight gains. CAC 40 closed yesterday at 5310.3 and increased by 1.04%, a total of 55.9, ending the session at 5366.2. EuroStoxx 50 also finished on a high at 3357.05, rising slightly by 0.91%. DAX Index closed yesterday on 11693.8 following this upwards trend, rising slightly by 74.92 points(0.64%) finishing on 11768.72.
The EuroStoxx 50's volume was 21% higher than its three month average, at 45.17 million. DAX Index's volume was lower than usual, with a -7% deviation from its three month average, and CAC 40's volume was -12% lower than its average, at 72.21 million.
The top gainers on the DAX were Deutsche Post and Fresenius SE, climbing 2% and 1.89% respectively. The Eurostoxx 50's highest gainers were Intesa Sanpaolo and Societe Generale [ticker] at 2.79% and 2.71%, while the CAC 40's top performers were ArcelorMittal, at 2.79%, and TechnipFMC, at 2.71%.
Henkel VZO and Lufthansa [ticker] were the DAX's lowest performers today, with a percentage fall of -6.77% and -2.3%. On the EuroStoxx 50, bottom performers were Kering at -1.97% and Amadeus at -1.16%. Finally, CAC 40's biggest losers were Kering, again and Carrefour, with changes of -1.97% and -0.73%..
